Experience TrackVia's Advanced Search
Summary:
A recent article in the E-Commerce News highlighted TrackVia’s powerful search tool. If you’ve not tried our advanced search features yet, I’d recommend you check them out. It will save you time while you’re trying to find that one record in your database of over 100,000 records! Our search functionality works like an Internet search engine on steroids according to Jack Germain.
A few search pointers:
- Enter a phrase in quotation marks to indicate that the terms must appear together
- Start a search term with an equal sign for an exact match
- Ability to search change notes, comments and attachment names
- Put a negative sign in front of your search term to return all matches that don’t contain this term
These are just a few of the many search options. I’d recommend you read our help article on search in the knowledge base as well as the article by Germain for additional pointers.
Comments
We often search for multiple zip codes at one time. Is there a way to search for "or" in the search bar. i.e. Zip_code:33333 or 44444 or 55555? I know it can be done in the filtered view, but from the search bar it would be much faster. Thanks.
We'll consider adding this with a future enhancement but you cannot currently us an "Or" operator in a TrackVia search. With our new user interface which will be released June 21st you'll be able to toggle filters while looking at the view which will make it easier to use filters and change the options on-the-fly.
