Navigating

There are a few different navigational tools for moving around in TrackVia.  Here we highlight just a few of the key ways you can quickly get where you want to go in your account!

Start Page  

The "start page" is the first page a user sees upon login to TrackVia.  

• By default, the account Home page is the start page.
• Any Dashboard page may be set as the start page.
• "Start page" is a user-level setting.  In other words, each user may choose, or may be assigned his or her own start page.
• To set a Dashboard page as the start page for a user or users:
  1. Verify that you've already built the dashboard(s) you wish to use as a start page.
  2. Go to the Users table.
  3. Select the user or users and change the field "Start page" to "Dashboard."
  4. Select the user or users and change the field "Default dashboard" to your selected Dashboard page.

Global Tabs  

The "global tabs" appear at the top of every page in your TrackVia account.

• HOME tab always takes you to the account's Home page
  • This is independent of your Start page.
  • You may also click the logo in the upper left to go to the Home page
• APPS tab takes you to a page that displays the names of all of the apps in your account
  • Click the name of an app to go to a display of all tables in that app
  • Or, use the search box in the upper right to search by table name
• DASHBOARD
  • This tab takes you to the dashboard page you most recently visited
  • Use the blue button labeled Dashboard to navigate to a different dashboard page
• USERS tab takes you to the User Management app [Account Admins only]
  • Add users through the links provided in the upper left
  • Or, click in to a specific table within the User Management application

App Navigation Widget  

The app "Navigation Widget" is a set of 3 drop-down lists that appears in the upper left of every view.  This widget allows you 1-click navigation to jump to:

• Any app in the account
• Any table within the current app
• Any view within the current table

"Smart back" Buttons  

As you navigate through TrackVia's user interface, you'll notice that TrackVia provides convenient "Back to..." buttons that give you a 1-click way to return to the previous page.  Here are a few examples:

• On a dashboard page, if you click a view's name you'll see a "back to dashboard" button
• From any view, if you click to view a single record you'll see a "back to view" button
• From any view, if you click to use a Tool you'll see a "back to view" button

Favorite Views  

Favorite Views live on your account Home page and give you customized 1-click access to any view in any app/table in your account.

"Settings" Widget  

The settings widget is our name for the links and information that's provided in the upper right corner of your account.
